Q.  Do I have to get three estimates?

A.  No!  Absolutely not.  Laws have changed in the insurance industry in the recent years and one area of change is the “right to choose” law.  You, the consumer, have the right to choose the repair facility of your choice.

Q.  What is direct Repair?

A. “Direct Repair” describes the direct relationship between your insurance company and the repair facility.  Most insurance companies have contracted agreements with different collision repair facilities in order to minimize down time, and maximize the efficiency of the claims process.  Direct Repair aids in the administrative communication between the insurance company and the repair facility, ultimately expediting the repair process.  It also eliminates the down time during the repair process when additional damage is exposed.  It gives the repair facility the liberty to photograph, note the damage, and continue with the repair without stopping and waiting for an insurance adjuster to re-inspect the additional damage.

Q.  Should I be “leery” of a repair facility that my insurance company has referred me to?

A.  No!  Your insurance company has carefully selected specific repair facilities that have been able to meet the stringent criteria that they demand.  Your insurance company guarantee’s the work that they are paying to have done to your vehicle, and therefore fully expects the repair facility to represent their best interest by fully identifying all of the damage, doing a quality repair on every car, every time.

There is a common misunderstanding that if your insurance company refers you to a repair facility, that the repair facility will cut corners on the quality of repair in order to save the insurance company money.  This is simply untrue.  Your insurance company is governed by the Department of Insurance and must adhere to State laws.

Q.  How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

A.  That depends on the extent of the damage to your vehicle, parts availability, and all too often, your insurance company.  No two repairs are alike.  An estimated time of repair can be roughly determined by a thorough examination of the damage, and an assessment of the relative damage.

Q.  Can you assist me with alternate transportation?

A.  Absolutely!  All of our locations have access to several car rental agencies.  We can secure a preferred rate for you on your rental, make the reservation for you, and handle the administrative data transfer between your insurance company and the rental agency.

Q.  Can you pick up and deliver my vehicle?

A.  Yes we can!  At Hayes Brothers Collision Repair, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service.  We understand that from time to time, schedules will simply not allow you the ability to get your vehicle either to us, or back from us.  We are always willing to accommodate and do what we can to assist you in any way.

Q.  What are “Aftermarket parts”?

A.  The term “Aftermarket” refers to parts for your vehicle that are manufactured by suppliers other than the Original Equipment Manufacturer, or OEM supplier.  These parts are typically less expensive than the OEM parts and therefore are favored by some insurance companies in order to reduce their cost per claim, which in turn keeps your premium as competitive as possible, and helps to eliminate rate increases.

Q.  Will my insurance company expect the repair facility to use Aftermarket or used parts on my vehicle during the repair process?

A.  Possibly.  Each insurance company is different.  Each claim is different.  Every vehicle is different.  Certain parts are not available from anyone other than the dealer.  Some insurance companies elect to only use certain aftermarket parts and stay away from others.

Q.  Are aftermarket parts as good as OEM?

A.  There are industry standards that must be met in order for an aftermarket part to be certified.  In the event that an aftermarket part doesn’t fit correctly, it would be returned and an OEM parts purchased in its place.

Q.  What happens if my repair takes longer than my rental allowance?

A. This happens all to often.  Unfortunately, there are many circumstances that encompass the automotive collision repair process that are out of our control.  Parts availability, parts accuracy, the severity and complexity of the repair, etc.  It is always the goal of Hayes Brothers Collision Repair to expedite all repairs on all vehicles, but honestly, some repairs simply take longer than others.

Q.  When do I pay my deductible?

A.  The deducible is collect at the end of the repair when the vehicle is completed.

(Specific payment policies apply.  Refer to repair order for details)
