Here at Hayes Brothers Auto Glass, we offer rock chip repairs

If your vehicle’s windshield has been chipped from a rock or other road debris, we may be able to repair the chip. In most cases, this will prevent the chip from turning into a crack in your windshield and spreading. There are a few factors that will determine if a chip in your windshield can in fact be repaired. The chip must be at least 3 inches away from the edge of any side of the windshield for a repair. The chip cannot be within an 11 x 16-inch range of the driver’s direct view. In this case, the windshield would need to be replaced. Most rock chip repairs typically take about 45 minutes to complete.

Most insurance companies will cover the cost of a rock chip repair. It is usually covered under your vehicle’s comprehensive coverage, meaning “other than collision”. This will NOT raise the cost of your monthly premium.

If you’re still unsure whether your vehicle’s windshield chip qualifies for a repair, give us a call today and we’d be glad to help!
